LAITLUM

The Laitlum canyons are literally translated as ‘End of Hills’, or ‘Edge of the World’. It is also called a ‘trekker’s paradise’.

It is nestled at great heights which offers a panoramic view of the whole of Meghalaya. From the top of the Canyon, a visitor is greeted with a majestic view of the grassy valleys and a tiny hamlet called Rasong, which lies on the ridges of the Laitlum gorge.

Fun fact: The Bollywood movie, 'Rock On 2' was filmed here around the year 2016 and yet Laitlum still remains a gem tucked away in Meghalaya.

One of the most popular trekking spots, Laitlum canyon even on cloudy days is a sight to behold - shrouded in an enchanted fog - and when the fog is pierced by a few single sun rays, one can see get a sense of how truly vast and deep it really is.
